Wanda Madeline Comstock (nee Gembicz), 95 of Old Bridge, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 5, 2020.
Wanda was born in Perth Amboy, NJ to John and Antonia Gembicz, where she
attended both St Stephens School and Perth Amboy High School. During WWII, Wanda worked at General Cable on high voltage cable cases as a field wire tester. Most of her adult life, she worked for the US Army Reserve at Camp Kilmer, NJ. Upon retirement, Wanda started her volunteer career as a Religious Instructor at the Woodbridge State School for handicapped children where she instituted a community activities program between Army Reservists and handicapped individuals for the Special Olympics. She
also volunteered at OLV, Our Lady of Victories Church, as an Alert Coordinator and Social Concern Member, as well as an Aerobics Instructor for the elderly at the Sayreville Senior Center. For many years, she was a self-employed Foot Reflexologist. Wanda loved singing in the OLV Choir for many years and dancing the polka.
She is predeceased by her parents, John and Antonia Gembicz, brother Michael Gembicz, and sisters Josephine Kozlowski, Helen Rozanski, Regina Jerome Coles and Victoria Bisaha.
Surviving are her daughters, Loren Comstock of New York, and, Sharron Taglialavore and husband Vincent of Florida; grand-daughters, Jessica Blanchette and husband Ben of Georgia and Lesley Taglialavore of Florida; great-grandchildren Anthony (TJ) and Amelia Blanchette of Georgia; sister-in-law Dorothy Gembicz and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to her special friends Myra DeJesus and Ron Stevenson for their loving help. Special thanks also to Dr. Miroslaw Florczyk and the VNA of NJ.
