Stephen Adam Dwulit Sr., 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, teammate, and friend, Stephen lived a life defined by dedication, loyalty, and love for those closest to him.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Stephen spent his early years there before moving to Staten Island with his family in 1964. He graduated from John Jay High School and later proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected the courage, commitment, and sense of duty that would characterize the rest of his life.
In 1970, Stephen married the love of his life, Susan. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories. Their bond served as the foundation of a close-knit family, and together they raised their children while creating a lifetime of memories with family and friends.
Stephen worked as a postal worker for over 20 years, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and friendly nature.
A lifelong sports fan, Stephen was a devoted supporter of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Whether watching a game at home, discussing statistics, or celebrating a victory, his passion for New York sports was undeniable. He also loved playing softball and treasured the friendships and memories he made as a member of the Renegades softball team, which held a special place in his heart.
More than anything, Stephen loved his family. His greatest joy came from being a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Gabriella. He was their biggest fan and supporter, attending sporting events, celebrating accomplishments, and taking immense pride in watching them grow into the wonderful young people they are today.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan; his daughter, Alison Napolitano and her husband, Ciro; his son, Stephen Dwulit Jr. and his wife, Theresa; his cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Gabriella; along with many extended family members, friends, fellow veterans, and teammates who will forever hold him in their hearts.
