Shane Mason, 47, beloved son, husband, friend, and colleague, passed away on Sunday, May 31st, 2026, surrounded by his family of caregivers. This ended a five-year struggle with bile duct cancer.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Rita Mason, his father, Britt Mason and other loving family members; his maternal grandparents, Marion and Fred Conroy, and his uncle and aunts, Kenneth Conroy, Eileen Whisner, and Cheryl Conroy.

Shane is survived by his mother, Barbara Mason, his husband, James Falstrom and their cherished cat Maddie, a paternal aunt, Margaret Ryan and several paternal cousins, and his maternal cousins, Kenny Huff, Flower Conroy, Richard Huff, Kathleen Mercado, Krystina Conroy, Michelle Conroy, and many nieces and nephews.

He grew up in South Amboy and graduated from Ramapo University in 2000 with a degree in graphic arts. He went on to work at Corporate Graphics in Piscataway and U.B.S. in Weehawken, and was known to be a kind and efficient supervisor, someone who loved and cared for animals, a Lego aficionado, a pop music curator, the boldest laugh at any party, a loyal and attentive son, a considerate and loving husband, and a compassionate, irreplaceable human being.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 9am to 11am. A prayer service will be offered by Father Dennis Weezorak at 11am before processing to Christ Church Cemetery on Pine Avenue in the Morgan section of Sayreville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to the Clyde F. Barker Penn Transplant House at 3940 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19104 - donations will be used to support lodging expenses for transplant patients experiencing financial hardship. Shane, James, and Barbara found this place to be a sanctuary and a home away from home during Shane's treatment. https://www.pennmedicine.org/giving/fund-for-penn-medicine/donate
