Robert Peter Baran, 76, a lifelong resident of South Amboy, NJ entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 15, 2023, in the U.S. Dept. of Veteran Affairs Community Living Center in Philadelphia, PA.

Robert was born and raised in South Amboy, and graduated from Saint Mary High School. He was inducted into the United States Marine Corp.in 1966. He served in Vietnam where he rose to the rank of Lance Corporal and was awarded a purple heart.

Upon discharge from the marines, Robert was a blue collar worker across multiple companies and postponed his career for many years providing home care to his parents. Robert loved music and dancing, was an avid videophile and was a passionate cook.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Baran as well as sisters Mary and Eleanor Baran and Clara Hansel. He is survived by his brother Joseph Baran and sister Frances Piechocinski.

Friends are invited to the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879, to pay their respects on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A 10:30 am funeral mass will follow at Saint Mary Church, South Amboy. Robert will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in the Parlin section of Sayreville.
