Richard John Schumacher, 69 of Old Bridge, NJ passed away on April 21,2024, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, NJ.

He was born on September 1, 1954, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Ricky was raised in Laurence Harbor, he enjoyed biking and belonged to the Boy Scouts. He graduated from Cedar Ridge High School. Ricky lived most of his life in Laurence Harbor, NJ, he worked for over 25 years at Hair Systems INC. in Englishtown, retiring in 2019. Richard enjoyed being around his loved ones, especially during the holidays. Christmas was his favorite holiday, he loved to give. His favorite movies were March of the Wooden Soldiers and Christmas Vacation, he loved that squirrel. Him and Lilliana enjoyed binge drinking Yoo-hoo and eating Pops cereal together. Also known by Lilliana, "Ganpa", or by Peyton " Pop-Pop".

He was an amazing father to his 5 children. He would take his children to Yogi Bear Campgrounds and the Land of Make Believe when they were younger. He loved watching the horses at the racetrack followed by a treat at jersey freeze. Ricky was an avid gardener, and along with his love for the little rabbits and birds who made his yard their home, he enjoyed the local parades, the county fairs, and foreign movies. Ricky loved taking his children to the Laurence Harbor Waterfront, along with Saltwater Day every August, Keansburg Water Park, Point Pleasant Boardwalk, Chuck-E-Cheese, and so much more. He was an amazing and loving father who gave his all to his family.

Predeceased by his father, John Schumacher.

Ricky is survived by his mother Lillian Schumacher, his loving children Marissa Schumacher, Lenny Mendoza, Natalie Schumacher, Ricky Schumacher and Lillian Schumacher. Cherished grandfather to Peyton and Lilliana Schumacher. He was the dear brother to Debbie Hornchak(William),Donna Schumacher and brother David Schumacher; nieces Kaitlan and Alexa Hornchak. And the dog he didn't want but ended up falling in love with, Luigi Aloicious Bachigallup (Princess).
