Patricia O'Brien

Patricia O'Brien, born on September 7, 1956, in Newark, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Pat lived a life of deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her, and a generous spirit that touched many hearts. She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel O'Brien; she is survived by her loving son and son-in-law, Daniel De Mello and Richard Buccellato, who will forever carry forward the memory of her love, her guidance, and her unwavering support. Patricia is also survived by her siblings, Kathy, Karen and Steven. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Julie, who was a constant source of companionship and joy.

Patricia found happiness in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She especially enjoyed gardening and took great pride in planting all types of flowers, creating an outdoor haven. Her love of nature extended far beyond the garden, as she delighted in birdwatching, with a special fondness for hummingbirds. She had a deep love for the ocean, animals, and the peaceful beauty of the natural world. These interests reflected her gentle spirit and her ability to find wonder in the everyday moments that others might overlook.

Among the many things Patricia enjoyed, aquatic therapy held a special place in her heart, not only for the comfort and renewal it brought her, but also for the dear friends she shared it with. Those friendships were meaningful to her, and she valued the companionship, laughter and support that came from spending time together.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 5-7PM, at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 7PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
