Nicholas D. Kides, Jr.

Nicholas D. Kides, Jr. (also known as “Junior”), 92, of Whiting, formerly of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Born in Jersey City and growing up in Union City, Nicholas retired from General Motors in Linden, NJ, in 1985, where he worked as an assembly line inspector/worker. Nicholas proudly served his country from 1955 to 1960 in the Army. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Marylyn. He loved to spend time with his seven grandchildren and going on cruises with his brother, Alan and sister-in-law Nancy.

Nicholas is predeceased by his wife, Marylyn, parents, brothers and sister.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas and daughter in law Judy; his daughter, Lynn and son in law Billy, as well as 7 grandchildren: Kevin and his wife Danielle Drew; Ryan and his wife Kristie Drew; Danny and his wife Amanda Drew; Michael and his wife Alexis Drew; Shawn Drew; Nicholas Kides; Nicole Lowden and her husband Devin. He also leaves behind eight great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 2pm to 5pm, with a prayer service at 5pm followed by United States Military Honors.
