Mila Fishman

Mila Fishman (Nee: Kopekin) 80, of Brooklyn, NY passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in her home in Brooklyn, NY.
Mila lived life the fullest, enjoyed dancing and celebrating with family and friends. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, the daughter of Toliek and Rosa, she emigrated to America in her late 30’s. Most her life she was a hair stylist in New York. She recently got sick three months ago and progressed rapidly. Thankfully she did not suffer too long. Mila will be remembered as “The Bear”, who made it through alot and always was strong. Her memory will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her ex-husband Simon Fishman, sons Simon Lipsky and Marat Fishman, her grandchild Ethan and a daughter-in-law Victoria. A brother Shurik Kopekin, and his wife Galia. In the last three months she found not only support but also friends with Pat and Donna who cared for her like their own mother, we are extremely greatful to them.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, South Amboy from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service will start from the funeral home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 11am and entombment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.
