It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ann Gorman, of Sayreville on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the age of 69.
Born in the Bronx, NY, Mary Ann moved to Sayreville, NJ, where she lived for nearly four decades, creating a home filled with warmth and love. She was an invaluable member to the neighborhood in which she lived, building everlasting friendships with many. Mary Ann had a successful career as an Event Planner, working for Revlon in Edison, and NMR Events in Monroe, where she was known for creating memorable experiences for others. Most recently, she was working as a Bookkeeper for Cheesequake Village, where her presence and kind-heartedness left a lasting impact throughout the community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Gorman, her parents, Henry and Vera Hofmann, and her brother Henry Hofmann and sister-in-law Gaynor.
She is survived by her cherished daughter, Laura Eileen Gorman, her dear siblings John Hofmann, Sheila Hofmann, brother-in-law Ray Gorman, and his wife Kathy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Above all, Mary Ann’s kindness and selflessness stood as a testament to the gentle, caring spirit that defined her. Her beloved dogs Honey and Milo were a constant source of comfort and joy in her life.
Mary Ann, a loving wife, mother, and friend, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm.
A 10am mass will be offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville, NJ on Friday, February 7, 2025. She will be laid to rest following the mass at New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin, NJ.
