Luis "Lucho" Guillermo Villacorta, 80, of East Brunswick, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born in San Martín, Peru, on August 21, 1944, Luis lived a life marked by courage, love, and unwavering devotion to his family and country.
In 1962, Luis embarked on a new chapter of his life, moving to the United States in pursuit of opportunity and a brighter future. After serving honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Luis continued to build a remarkable life. He earned a degree in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University and worked for several years at the Mennen Company. However, Luis eventually transitioned to his true passion: the hospitality industry. His work in hotels and restaurants allowed him to share his warmth, charm, and generosity with countless people over the years.
Luis was the beloved husband of Silvia Villacorta, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Leslie Nicole Villacorta and Roxana Duque, his loving mother, Fina Villacorta, and his adored grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rodolfo Villacorta, Arturo Villacorta, Rosa Deza de Villacorta, and Corina Villacorta, along with many nephews and nieces who will forever treasure his memory.
He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, a hero who lived his life with purpose and grace and a Jets, Mets, and Knicks fanatic. Luis’s warmth and humor left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ to honor Luis’s life there will be a prayer service being held at 6:15 pm at the funeral home. A private cremation will held on Wednesday, but there will be an updated date for the burial of his ashes in the future at William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. If possible and are able to wear any attire representing the Jets, Mets or Knicks gear if you have.
