Louis Gerald Lockwood
March 31, 1995 – June 1, 2020
The Lord called Louis Gerald Lockwood, 25, of Huntington, WV, home on June 1, 2020. Louis was born March 31, 1995 in Neptune, NJ and lived in Ocean Township most of his life.
Louis was a spirit that could not be contained. He would walk into a room quoting Malcom X and within minutes be singing Disney songs with his little cousins (and knowing all the lyrics). Louis made life extremely interesting by challenging the norm and testing limits just to see what would happen. He loved being around his family and he was so proud of his grandparents. He was kind, trusting and respectful and had the most beautiful smile that took him far. A gentle giant with a huge heart, a great laugh and a fantastic sense of humor. He would start up a conversation with anyone and he was truly interested and cared about people. He was a great friend and was known to tell some tall tales! Louis was an avid reader and acquired knowledge in areas that most people never touched – including reading the bible multiple times. Louis’ faith and love for God has guided him on his life journey. He will be so sorely missed by many.
Louis is survived by his mother, Phyllis Lockwood-Geis and step-father, Richard Geis of Ocean, NJ his sister, Johanna Lockwood of Charlotte, and his grandmother, Jo Lockwood of Tinton Falls, NJ as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Gerald Lockwood who was Louis’ hero. He also leaves behind his loved ones, Jeanne and Girad Smith, Vencel Martin, Theresa Ernestine, Debra Ernestine, Vencel Martin Jr and Jeanne Martin
Cremation services will be privately held at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions. The family will plan to have a service at some time in the future when Louis will be put to final rest next to his beloved grandfather.
