Lisa J. Zapantis (Nee: Trimore) of Old Bridge, NJ passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 12, 2024 hours before her 60th birthday.
Lisa was born in Brooklyn, NY on Sunday, December 13, 1964 the daughter of John and Ada Trimore. Lisa as a child moved to New Jersey, and went to Cedar Ridge High School in Old Bridge. After graduating she took a job at a Spear Leeds & Kellogg Brokerage Firm in Manhattan where she met the love of her life Spyro. When they started dating the both of them enjoyed catching a Broadway play, going to the opera and going to watch hockey games especially when the Devils were playing. Lisa loved NY City with all that it had to offer with the restaurants and sights, one of her favorite restaurants was Paesano's in Little Italy. Although deep down inside she was a country girl at heart. Six years later, after dating they got married and started their life still living in Old Bridge, and fast forwarding to 2003 she became a mom with the birth of beautiful daughter Angelica.
Lisa was dedicated to raising her daughter and spending time baking delicious desserts, and specifically coconut macaroons. She enjoyed cooking many dishes and sharing some of heritage by making Pernil. The enjoyment for her was to share some of these dishes and baked goods with friends and coworkers at the Amazon fulfillment center in Avenel for the last 8 years. Lisa was always a very sweet person who always was chatting it up with someone, and the Wawa on Englishtown Road won't be the same as she enjoyed going there for the coffee and fraternize with help. She was a good spirited person who always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed spending time with her cats Rags, Trouble and Olive while being curled reading a good book. As a family they spent a lot of time together and when the Ringling Bros. Circus was in town, you know they'd be there. On some days when Lisa and Spyro would have free time they would take day trips to Lancaster PA but the trips she took to Spyro’s family in Greece were her most memorable ones. Lisa’s spirit and smile will never be forgotten and always remembered.
Lisa is predeceased by her parents, but it is with heavy heart and great sorrow that Lisa is survived by her ever loving husband of 40 years Spyro Zapantis, her cherished daughter Angelica Zapantis, her dear brother John Trimore, his wife Tami Koehler, and niece Emma
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1pm to 4pm at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879. In memory of Lisa the family is asking that donations be made to Autism Speaks for New Jersey & Eastern PA.
