Lindsay Sowder, 90, of Parlin, NJ, died on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held privately at Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street in South Amboy. Interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy.
Born in Pulaski County, KY to the late William and Addie Sowder, Mr. Sowder was a lifelong resident of Parlin before moving to Old Bridge this past year. He proudly served our country during WWII with the U.S. Army. He worked as an assembly worker for Ford Motor Co. of Edison, NJ for over 33 years prior to his retirement in 1983. Lindsay was an avid fisherman and enjoyed freshwater fishing and also enjoyed the banjo and playing the guitar.
Lindsay was predeceased by his beloved wife Vera (nee Raskulinicz) Sowder, his daughter Patricia Boganski, son David Sowder and 2 grandsons Robert Foy and David N. Sowder.
He is survived by his sons John (Nancy), William (Denise), son-in-law John Boganski, daughter-in-law Lillian Sowder, grandchildren, John Sowder II, Lance Sowder (Heather), Joseph Boganski (Mariko), Craig Sowder (Kimberly), Lindsay Sowder, Deanna Smarro (John), Dana Sowder (Arron) and 4 great-granchildren Olivia, Audrey, Jon and Logan.
