Kenneth Henry Burden, 82, previously of Red Bank, NJ died on June 20, 2025 at Old Bridge
Medical Center.

Kenneth was born in Newark, NJ to the late Elmer and Dorothy Burden, and
resided in Monmouth County for most of his life. Kenneth was a proud veteran of the United
States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was a long time member of St.
Stephen’s Masonic Lodge in South Amboy, NJ, and was a talented painter and gardener in his
earlier years. Kenneth was an avid NY Yankees fan, and remained loyal to his team until the
end of his life.

Kenneth was a professional carpet and flooring mechanic for over 40 years, and was a proud
union member of Carpenter’s Resilient Flooring, Local 2212 in Union, NJ. He was an active
union member throughout his career, and was happy to have played a role in negotiating
favorable contracts for his union brothers and sisters.
Kenneth’s happiest days were spent with his beloved wife Mary, who passed away in 2015, and
with his adored daughter Sharon. He was a hardworking family man whose kindness will be
missed.

In addition to his parents Elmer and Dorothy and wife Mary, Kenneth was preceded in death by
his brother Charles, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Frances Chapman, sisters-in-law
Dolores Bolen and Joan Carroll, brothers-in-law Phillip Brady, John Chapman, and Frank Bolen,
nieces Wendy Tuohy and Patricia McKeon, and nephews David Burden and Kevin Carroll.

Kenneth is survived by his loving daughter Sharon Burden, brothers Roy (Kris), Billy (Anna),
and Vincent Burden, and his sister, Dorothy (Bill) Borden, his brothers-in-law Jerry Carroll,
Charles Chapman, sister-in-law MaryLou, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 2pm to 4 pm, a prayer service will be offered at 3:30pm.
Private burial will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Kenneth’s family would like to express gratitude towards the staff of Reformed Church Home in
Old Bridge, Roosevelt Care Center of Old Bridge, and Old Bridge Hospital for their kindness and
care extended to Kenneth throughout his illness.
