Kathleen M. Botka, 67, passed away on Thursday, February 8th, 2018 in Newark, NJ.
Kathie was born in Queens, New York at Mary Immaculate Hospital to the late Irene Foran and James Botka, Sr. She attended William L. Dickinson High School in Jersey City where she graduated in 1968.
Kathleen was a prolific poet, singer, songwriter and an accomplished guitarist who started out making the beat generation rounds in Greenwich Village, NYC. As time went on her focus became Spiritual. Kathleen was gifted with an out flowing concern and caring away from herself toward others. Two of her signature songs of her oeuvre are entitled “SHABBAT SHALOM” and “IAHSHA”.
Kathie left behind her brother James Botka, Jr., sister-in-law Diane, and many friends as well as brethren from her congregation who will especially miss her. Kathie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Brian Botka.
