Joseph R Fusco Sr.

Joseph R Fusco Sr. 61 passed away peacefully at his home in South Amboy on Monday, May 5th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a loving Husband, cherished Father, devoted Grandfather, and a dear friend to many. He was born in Montclair NJ on April 1st, 1964 to Anthony E Fusco and Angela M Fusco.
Joseph is known in the carpet world as “Joe the Binder”. He successfully founded and owned Carpet Binding Service which he started in 1989. He took only the greatest pride in his work and was truly a master in his craft. He was beloved by all in his trade and found only the greatest friendship and camaraderie among those he worked with.
Known affectionately as “Big Joe”, he loved a great many things, foremost spending time with his loving family and winning trophies from his granddaughter Aubriana. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved visiting his cabin in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. There he would ride ATV’s, go boating on the beautiful mountain lakes, and enjoy all the beauty of nature. He also loved traveling the country with his wife Chris in their RV. He was well versed in many skills including woodwork, auto mechanics, and was known as the “Joe” of all trades.
He is survived by his loving wife Christine, his children Anthony, Joseph Jr, and Stephen, his granddaughter Aubriana, as well as her mother Ashley, and his two beloved cats Noon and Midnight that he rescued.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879, from 9am to 1pm, there will be a catholic prayer service at 12:30pm. A burial will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
