John Edward Andrejewski, 101, of the Melrose Section of Sayreville, peacefully entered eternal rest from his home on May 22, 2021 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late John J. Andrejewski and Rose R. (Chismar) Andrejewski.

John was born on March 10, 1920 in Melrose and lived there all of his life. He was employed by NL Industries for 42 years before his retirement in 1982. John served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II, from early 1942 until late 1945 as an airplane mechanic, working most notably on the P-40 Flying Tigers. In 1948 he and his wife Lillian started a small lingerie and jewelry business which would become Lillian’s Gift Shoppe and was in business until 2015. In 1956 he and Lillian built their dream home where he lived independently until his death.

He was predeceased by his wife Lillian A. (Juhrden) Andrejewski and his brother Harold J. Andrejewski.

He is survived by his daughter Diana Haywood of Kingwood NJ and his son Donald J. Andrejewski and wife Dee of Freehold, NJ, grandchildren Dennis Andrejewski and wife Amy of Warrenton, VA. Robert Andrejewski and wife Jennie of Richmond, VA, Elizabeth (Beth) Andrejewski of Freehold, NJ and Dolores (Lori) Carrigan and husband Sean of Manasquan, NJ, and 10 great grandchildren.

Friends are invited on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 to pay their respects at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 from 8 am to 9:30 am. Followed by a funeral mass being offered at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy.
