Joanne Corridon, (Nee: Wojciechowski), 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of South Amboy, Joanne was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and attended both Sacred Heart School and St. Mary’s High School. She went on to earn a degree in English from Saint Joseph’s College in Emmitsburg, MD, where she met the love of her life, Fran. After graduation, Joanne taught Music and English at St. Ambrose School in Old Bridge before joining the family business, Raritan Printing Company / Raritan Flag & Banner. There, she took great pride in publishing the "South Amboy Citizen" newspaper and providing printed materials and flags that honored and supported local police and fire departments, rescue squads, schools, and townships throughout the community.
Joanne’s greatest joy came from her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren, showing up to every game, performance, or milestone to cheer them on. She was the cornerstone of the family, known for her warmth and generosity. She poured her love into her garden, cooking, and baking, and her meals and treats were the heart of family gatherings. Her hugs were full of love and her laughter would fill a room. Everyone was family in her home.
Some of her happiest days were spent at the Jersey Shore, reading, playing games, and relaxing by the lagoon at the family beach house in Ocean Beach.
She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph R. Wojciechowski and Frances Klimkiewicz Wojciechowski, and sisters, Maryann Wojciechowski and Barbara Meyers.
Joanne leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, Francis; her children, Michael Corridon and his wife, Jennifer, of Lakewood, CO; Marianne Ferrer and her husband, Steven, of Scotch Plains; Christine Demarest and her husband, Chuck, of South Plainfield; and Jennifer Penn and her husband, James, of Morganville. She was “Babcia” to her cherished grandchildren, Nina, Genevieve, Delia, Griffen, Andrew, Charlotte, and Grace, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Wojciechowski, and his fiancée, Janet, of Manchester.
Joanne will be deeply missed by her loving in-laws, including Margaret and Stephen Murphy, Patricia Corridon, Mary and William Perkins, and Thomas and Lisa Corridon, affectionately known as the “Travel Club.” She is also survived by a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
