Jean Marie Therien
August 16, 1950 — July 28, 2020
Jean Marie (Geis) Therien, 69, passed away on July 28, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be profoundly missed.
Jean was born in New York City and grew up in Weehawken, NJ. She eventually settled in Union Beach, NJ where she resided for the last 45 years.
Jean was a talented seamstress and quilter and enjoyed spending time with her friends in her quilting group. She was also an avid reader and bowler, loved to take cruise vacations, and enjoyed visiting casinos and playing the slot machines. Every summer, she could be found on her boat with her husband where they enjoyed fishing the Raritan Bay. But she mostly loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Jean recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her loving husband, Merrill.
Jean was predeceased by her father, Eugene Geis, her mother Ann Schlee and brother James Geis.
Jean is survived by her husband Merrill, daughter Kim Kohn and husband William of Hudsonville, MI, son Michael Therien and wife Jennifer of Hazlet, NJ and her grandchildren Hailie Kohn, Dante Kohn, Jeannette Therien and Michael Therien, Jr. Jean was also survived by her sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Lynch and Barbara Heck, brother Richard Geis and many loving extended family members.
Cremation will be private and a memorial will be held at a later date.
