Janusz Zalewski

Janusz Zalewski, 57, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Born on February 10, 1969, in Lyse, Poland, he brought light and laughter to all who knew him throughout his remarkable life.

Janusz was a devoted husband to his beloved and loving wife, Alicja, and a proud father to his three children: Michael and his wife Alyssa, Nicolette, and Veronica. He was the cherished son of Irena and the late Stanisław. Janusz shared a close bond with his siblings, Danuta, Andrzej, Bożena, and Ania. His family will forever hold him in their hearts.

Hardworking and a man of many talents, Janusz found great joy in working on projects around the home with Alicja. If a project involved a screwdriver or a set of tools, he was in his element. He had a lifelong passion for cars and could often be found working on them. He also cherished simple pleasures like sleeping on a hammock under the sun, grilling for his family, bird watching, listening to music, taking care of the family pets, and spending time outdoors. His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life; he thrived on creating moments of togetherness and happiness. Janusz treasured his family, nothing brought him greater happiness than creating lasting memories with those he loved.

Janusz’s sense of humor and zest for life made him unforgettable. He was a provider who always put others first. Known for being protective yet caring, he had an innate ability to make everyone feel like they were his best friend. His laughter filled rooms, and his presence brought comfort to those around him.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the countless memories he gave us and the love he shared so freely. His legacy of faith, kindness, hard work, and unconditional love will continue to live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched.

Janusz will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879. A 10am funeral mass will be offered on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Sacred Heart Church, 531 Washington Avenue. South Amboy, NJ. For those friends wishing to attend the mass please arrive at the Sacred Heart Church by 9:45am. There will be a procession to Holy Cross Crematory, 840 Cranbury South River Road, East Brunswick, NJ.
