Helen Poweski

Helen Poweski (Nee: Wieckowski) 82 formerly of Middletown and previously from Sayreville entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 17, 2018.
Helen was born in Poland the daughter of the lates Leon and Pelagia, when she was 14 she emigrated to America and lived in Perth Amboy. In 1955 she married her husband Walter and they lived in Keasbey, South Amboy and Sayreville where they raised six children. Helen worked for Revlon in Linden on the assembly line and retired from Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel working in housekeeping.
She is survived by her loving children Walter Poweski, his wife Kim, Joann Garcia, her husband Rick, Susan Schertl, her husband Paul, Christina Allen, James Poweski, his life mate Donna Gaynor and Richard Poweski, his wife Stacy. Cherished grandmother of nine and adored great grandmother to three. Dear sister-in-law Theresa Wieckowski and brother-in-law John Colson, along with many caring nieces and nephews.
Helen is predeceased by her husband Walter Sr., grandson Walter Timothy Poweski, sister Irene Colson, brothers John and Siegfried Wieckowski.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338, Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 6 to 9 pm. A catholic prayer service will be offered on Wednesday morning at 9:30 am at the funeral home.
