Helen (Wojtaszek) Jaskowiak, formerly of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024. at the age of 97.
Helen was born on September 14, 1927 in South Amboy, NJ. She was the daughter of George and Angela Wojtaszek. Helen married Casimir (Cass) Jaskowiak on September 13, 1947. They had a house built in Sayreville where she resided for 72 years before moving to Somerset to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Shortly thereafter, she became a resident of Care One at Somerset Valley, an Assisted Living Community.
Helen always volunteered at the Sacred Heart Grammar School and was active in the PTA serving every office from Secretary, Treasurer and President. Helen loved to bake and there was aways a homemade dessert at dinner. Another favorite was making bread, placek and pierogi. If there was one thing that Helen enjoyed most, it was decorating her home for every holiday. She never seemed to have enough decorations. There was always room for one more.
Helen is predeceased by her parents and her loving husband, Cass.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Colette Gutkin, and her husband Leonard of Somerset; her son, Gary Jaskowiak, and his wife Vicki of Varnville, SC. and her two grandchildren, Jennifer and Keith Kehoe.
In honoring Helen's wishes, a direct cremation took place under the direction of the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ.
