George A. Jorgensen, 90 of Parlin, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 with his devoted son George by his side.

George was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, and predeceased by his parents George and Myrtle (nee: Festag) Jorgensen and his loving wife of 55 years, Dolores (nee: Ruszaj) Jorgensen. He was proud of his service to the country during the Korean War as an Airman 1st Class in the US Air Force. Later he worked as a Stationary Engineer for Revere Sugar Corporation in Red Hook, NY and ExxonMobile in Staten Island, NY. In his spare time, George was an avid DIY handyman who loved woodworking and was regarded as, “the guy who could fix or build anything”. His passions also included sailing and saltwater fishing.

He was a caring and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

George is survived by his son George and wife Christine of Lewes, DE, cherished grandfather to James, Alexandra and Victoria, and sister Irene Kennedy.

Family and friends are invited on Thursday, December 16, 2021 to pay their respects from 10am to 12pm at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
