Frederick "Fred" Bartz

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick Bartz of Brick NJ, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born and raised in Parlin, son of Harold and Helen Bartz, Frederick was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He especially loved the outdoors and found peace on the water, enjoyed boating, fishing, and nature. He shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Joan, building a life together and raising their three children. In 2013, they moved down the shore to be closer to their children.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Harold Jr., Albert, and Roy.

Frederick is survived by his wife, Joan, his children, Frederick Jr., Deborah, and Sharon; his son-in-law, John; his grandson, Alec; and his brother, Charles. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Wednesday, May 20, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street South Amboy, NJ 08879. A 1pm prayer service will be held at the funeral home followed by a burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin, NJ.
