Florence Gangemi
January 16, 1935 — August 10, 2019
Florence Gangemi (Nee: Surman) 84 a lifelong resident of South Amboy entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
Florence was born in South Amboy the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret, she graduated from St. Mary’s High School, and was married to her late husband Edward. Florence was an administrative assistant at the Middlesex County Correctional Facility in North Brunswick and retired in 2000.
She is survived by her sisters Dolores Burkshot, her husband Ron, Carol Masterson, her husband Bill and Deborah Shwiner, her husband Dennis, along with many nieces and nephews.
Florence is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Surman, husband Edward Gangemi, and brother Joseph Surman.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 10am to 11:30am concluding with a prayer service with Father Stanley Gromadzki officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
