Emma H. Sumski (Nee: Lear) of the Morgan section of Sayreville passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the age of 96.

Emma was born on November 9, 1928 and graduated from Hoffman High School in South Amboy.
Emma married Edwin W. Sumski, and went on to be a wife and mother to four daughters.

During her life she enjoyed many things including traveling, gardening, doing puzzles and watching her favorite team player, #99 Aaron Judge, play baseball. She was a devout member of Sacred Heart Church in South Amboy being involved with the Rosary Society and the Senior Citizen Club.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband Edwin and brother John Lear Jr.

She is survived by her loving daughters Sandra Read, Patricia Adamiec, Gloria Machtinger, and her husband Richard and Nancy Sumski. Cherished grandmother to Donna Biamonte and Victoria Machtinger, Jason Read, Richard Adamiec and Samuel Machtinger. Adored great grandmother to Valen Machtinger, She also survived by her dear sister to Janet Lear PIrone. and several nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be missed by all, especially by her best friend Mary Bringhurst.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. A 10 am funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church in South Amboy. A burial will follow at Christ Church Cemetery, Sayreville.
