Edward Leviten, 90, formerly of Colonia, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 17, 2022
Born to Samuel and Bessie (née Rosalinsky) Leviten on April 6, 1932. A few years after High School, he served in the Army nearly 2 years, receiving training in Surface-to-surface Missile Electrical Repair Helper, before being honorably discharged due to an injury, but not before meeting the brother of his future wife, Florence and the rest is history. In his next venture, he worked as a draftsman, completed his bachelors degree and then worked as a Claims Examiner for Unemployment Insurance. After retiring, he became a school bus driver. In his younger years, Edward enjoyed playing tennis, traveling to the Poconos and his weekly food shopping trips. He didn’t like the sun or the beach, but somehow his wife, Florence, convinced him to go to Hawaii. He loved his detective shows, such as Law & Order, MacGyver and Hawaii 5-0. Edward also enjoyed watching sports such as the Mets and Giants.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, sister Francis, brother Jerome and his wife, Florence (née Yatrofsky).
He is survived by his daughter Randi (née Leviten) Parente and grandchildren, Allyson (née Rakes) (Mike) Khongchan and Randy Rakes.
