It is with profound love and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of, Debra Lee McQuade (Nee : Schreck) 61 a lifelong resident of Sayreville, New Jersey who left this world peacefully at home on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Red Bank, New Jersey, Debbie was the heart of every room she entered, bringing warmth, laughter, and kindness wherever she went. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel like family, welcoming others with open arms and an even more open heart. Her generosity knew no bounds, offering comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love to all who needed it. She had a way of lifting others out of dark times and reminding them of the goodness still in the world. We will remember her as a jack of all trades, a gifted chocolate maker, home designer, a mechanic, baker, therapist and a medium, but above all, she was a mother to everyone she met.

Debbie is predeceased by her mother Beatrice Carpenter, father-in-law John P. McQuade II, sister Donna Steinruck.

She is survived by her father James Schreck, and his wife Jane, beloved husband, John McQuade, loving daughters Nichole Herrick, and her husband Jake, Erin McQuade, and Kellyann McQuade, adored grandmother to Dakota Herrick, Mason Herrick and Brooke Herrick, dear sisters Gail Giannotto, her husband Michael, Sue Scialfa, Mary Donnelly, Kelly Hogue, and her husband Charlie, brothers Richard Schreck, Joseph Gougeon, and his wife Heather and James Gougeon, and his wife Beverly. Also survived by her mother-in-law Margaret McQuade, Michael McQuade, and his wife Cheryl, Colleen Egan, and her husband Bob, Dennis McQuade, and his wife Nicole, Brian McQuade, and his wife Rebecca, Jennifer Heyman, and her husband Kyle, MaryKate McQuade and special mention to her grand-dog Dexter. She is also survived by many, many other loving family members.

Debbie’s love for her family was immeasurable, and her spirit will continue to live on in their hearts and in the countless lives she touched.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Debbie’s life on Wednesday, November 5th, at Kurzawa Funeral Home in South Amboy, New Jersey, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.

Her memory will remain a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her
