Clare A. Moskwa (Nee: Zrebiec), 86, a longtime resident of South Amboy entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, August 31, 2018 with her loving family by her side at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick.

Clare was born in South Amboy the daughter of the late Stanley and Veronica. In 1953 she married her late Husband, Edward, who passed in 2006. At the time they were married for 53 years. After raising her five children, she started her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Oak View Nursing Home and held that position there for over 50 years.

Clare’s passion for helping others was immense. She was a devoted member of the Sacred Heart Church parish in South Amboy. Her many contributions included active participation in the Rosarian Society and numerous charitable activities. She also enjoyed her monthly trips to Atlantic City as well as other Seniors club events and was an avid Mets fan.

Clare is survived by her loving daughters Elaine Atkinson and her husband Marc, and Lorraine Brennan; loving sons James “Jimmy” Moskwa and his wife Linda, and Paul Moskwa and his wife Robin; cherished grandchildren Sharon Brennan, Caitlin Arvanites and her husband Rob, Kaitlyn Harris and her husband Paul, and Nicole Fey; adored great grandchildren Donovan Fey, Gabriella and Brody Harris; step-grandchildren Nicole, Edward, and Samantha Schmidt; step-great grandchild Emma Snyder; dear sisters Helen Van Hart and Mary Anne Buckley; dear brother Edward Zrebiec and his wife Barbara; and many caring nieces and nephews.

Clare was predeceased by her husband Edward, son Edward, Jr., brother-in-law Joseph Van Hart, and son-in-law George Schmidt.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Kurzawa Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. She will be laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. and at 10 a.m. Thursday morning. The Sacred Heart Rosarian's, Seniors and St. Stan’s Seniors will be offering a service honoring Clare at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy in memory of Clare.
