Christina Prosper

Christiana Prosper, 79, of Sayreville, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 1, 2019 with her family by her side.
Christiana was born on the Caribbean island of Dominica; the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabella, She married her husband, Avondale in 1987. She lived in Reston, Virginia for 15 years while working as a CNA and since 2003 moved to Sayreville. Christiana had worked for Care One and Reformed Church Care helping those in need up until her illness forcing her to retire in 2010.
Christiana, lovingly referred to, simply, as "Apou", was a one of a kind soul. Trips to her home often began with her greeting you with one of her animated hellos, quickly followed by an onslaught of food offerings. She was well-known wherever she lived or worked. Among family members, she was regarded for her no-holds-barred attitude and quick-witted responses. Christiana loved unforgivingly and was seen as a cornerstone in her family.
Christiana is survived by her loving children Cynthy Hurtault, Norma Hurtault, Magdalene Williams, her husband Muncie, and Frankey Lee. Cherished grandchildren Dale Philbert, Pashia Joseph, her husband Clayton, Dennison Joseph, Nigel Hurtault, Kimora Beaupierre, her husband Achille, Shari Lee, Lisa Prosper, Jerell Williams, Brandon Lee and Amber Lee. Adored great grandmother of eleven. Dear sister to Ella Challenger and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Avondale Luke, sisters Theresa Ambo, Clautilda Ceasar, brothers Symbert, Francis, Reynold, Nicholas and Philip Prosper.
Friends are invited to the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 10 am to 12 pm with a service at 12:15 pm. Internment will be Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
