Anna Mary Leathers
February 4, 1929 — January 31, 2020
Anna Mary Leathers (Nee: Gecek), 90 South Amboy entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 31, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
Anna was born and raised in South Amboy, she was a dedicated member of the Sacred Heart Parish. Anna has served all her sacraments at Sacred Heart as well as being a eucharistic minister, devoted to the Holy Rosary Society and an aide to the Pastor Father Joseph.
Anna had worked as a nurses aide for Perth Amboy hospital for 20 years until her retirement in the late 1960’s.
She is survived by her loving sons Kenneth J. Leathers, and his wife Eva and Kevin E. Leathers, and his wife Donna Marie. Anna was also the adored grandmother to Christopher Leathers, Kyle Leathers; step grandma to Anthony Penicaro, and his wife Jacqueline and Thomas Penicaro, and his wife Elaine; step great grandmother Anthony, Vincent and Reagan Penicaro. Dear sister Helen Morgan and sister-in-law Barabara Gecek.
Anna was predeceased by her husband Kenneth E. Leathers, her brothers John Gecek, and his wife Ann, Pete Gecek; brother-in-law George Morgan.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Wednesday morning from 8am to 9:30am; at the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 prior to a 10am funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy.
