Anastasia Vera Benjamin

Anastasia Vera Benjamin, 91, of Bloomfield, NJ entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Mountainside Medical Center with her family by her side.
Anastasia Vera was one of eight children and was born in Maraval, Trinidad. She was the daughter of the late Norbert and Lillian Diaz. She received her Master degree from Teachers’ College and taught for over 50 years. She retired after serving as principal of the Point Cumana Government School in Trinidad.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Cecile Chapman, Angela Benjamin-McKie and Deborah Benjamin. She was the cherished grandmother of Paul Brian Raghoo, his wife June, Amanda Benjamin-Smith, Samantha Smith, her husband Sean, Cindy Marie Faria and fiancé Darryl, Ryan Faria, Dexter Chapman and Michael McKie. She was the adored great grandmother of six and the aunt to many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear sister, Joan Adams and her husband Arnott. She was adored by her son-in-law, Mr. John McKie.
Anastasia Vera was predeceased by her husband Walter, son Keith, sisters Eula Whitehead, Lyris Modeste and Joyce Sampson, her brothers, Robert Diaz, Neuvo Diaz and Devane Diaz.
