Ambrose Joseph Nelson
February 7, 1945 — January 18, 2023
Ambrose Joseph Nelson of Sayreville passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2023. He was only 77 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Ambrose was born on February 7, 1945.
Ambrose was an Air Force veteran, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and New Jersey State Teachers College at Jersey City. Ambrose was a long time Postal Service employee and an incredibly talented artist. Over the years Ambrose transitioned his skills from fine art to a successful side business painting signs and applying his craft to various cars and motorcycles. A man of few words and a big heart, he touched everyone that had the privilege to know him and will be terribly missed.
Ambrose was predeceased by his parents, Ambrose and Edna Nelson.
Ambrose is survived and missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Diane, his children Mark and David, his only grandchild Sam, as well as his sister Edna and brothers Michael and Richard.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 9am to 11am at the Kurzawa Funeral Home 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879. A burial will follow to George Washington Memorial Park 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.
