Alexander Pierson Spining, 74, of Short Hills, NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street in South Amboy.

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at The Chapel Short Hills, 451 Millburn Avenue in Millburn, NJ. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Born in Orange, NJ to the late Warren Pierson and Margaret Lucile Spining, Alexander began his life in Livingston, NJ and moved to Short Hills in 1950. He worked many years as a project manager for IBM in West Orange prior to his retirement.
Beloved husband of 39 years to Sallyann (Orofino) Spining. Devoted father to Alexander P. Spining JR, Suzanne Messer, Jim Canape, Elizabeth Montague. Cherished grandfather to Victoria Messer, Morgan Messer, Piper Messer and Zane Messer. Dear brother to Katherine Sinclair (Spining).
Alexander is also survived by Brother in law Frank Orofino, Sister in law Phyllis Orofino, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
