Stanley F. Kurpiewski

Stanley F. Kurpiewski, 90 a life-long resident and active community member in South Amboy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Stanley was born in South Amboy, NJ, son of the late Alex Kurpiewski and Stella Potocza. Stanley worked for Hercules Power Co., then was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Sayreville for 30 years. He served his country proudly during the Korean War for three years in the Army Air Force. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Holy Name society and Senior Club, and the Tuesday Club of the Knights of Columbus 2061. He is a past president and life member of the Morgan First Aid Squad. Stanley is predeceased by his devoted wife Mary (Nee Coughlin), brother Antoine, sisters Alice Waranowicz, Josie Ureneck, and Laura Chreptovich. He leaves behind loving sister Violet McMahon, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, great-great-great nieces, great-great-great nephews and other loving family members. A 10 AM funeral mass will be offered on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Sacred Heart Church, 531 Washington Ave, South Amboy, NJ 08879 being conducted from Kurzawa Funeral Home, South Amboy. Stanley will be laid to rest beside his wife of 60 years at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Stanley’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) at alzfdn.org and please get vaccinated to help save those most vulnerable.
