Buddy
Joseph P. Krygier, 84 lifelong resident of South Amboy entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Hackensack Medical Center. Born the son of the late Edward and Mary, everyone knew him as Buddy and he was a true friend to anyone who knew him. Buddy was a dedicated Veteran and served his Country proudly during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy. He retired from the NJ Turnpike Authority in 1988 and before that from National Lead as an Electrician. During his life he was a devoted Catholic, a parishioner and usher for Sacred Heart Church, member of the Holy Name Society, Catholic War Veterans Post #578 and Sacred Heart Seniors. Buddy was always there for those he cared about. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. His heart will be missed by many and his presence missed by all. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Elnora, his children Raymond, ex-daughter-in-law Alison DeFort, Patricia Slade, her husband Mark, Karen Malik, her husband Joseph and Linda Kelly, her husband Thomas Sr. He was the cherished grandfather to Michael, Kristin, Timothy, Thomas Kelly Jr., Alexander and Benjamin Slade, and many caring relatives. Buddy is predeceased by his sisters Eleanor Munck, her husband George, Irene Volk, her husband John, brother Thomas Krygier, and his wife Patricia. The funeral will be conducted from the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:30 Am followed by an 11 Am Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends are invited to the funeral home to pay their respects on Monday from 4 to 7 Pm and on Tuesday from 10 Am . The groups of Sacred Heart Seniors will we be having a service at 5 Pm, the Catholic War Veterans service will be at 5:30 Pm and the Holy Name Society service will be at 6 Pm to honor their member who now rests in the peace with the Lord. The family is requesting that a donation to be made in lieu of flowers to Sacred Heart Repair Fund, 531 Washington Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879, in loving memory of Joseph “Buddy” Krygier.
