Florence S. Wingerter

June 19, 1947 - May 24, 2022

Florence Wingerter, 74, a lifelong resident of Sayreville, NJ passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She was the daughter of Chester and Sophie Blaszka. Florence was a graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School. Her husband Gregory was her high school sweetheart. They were married in 1966. Working with children was Florence’s passion. She worked with elementary school children in the Sayreville school system for three decades. Her positive attitude was contagious to those around her. She had a kind word and smile for everyone. You could always go to her with any problem, she would always try to help. She was a strong woman who gave her husband, sons and others she was grateful to know a great gift: she believed in them. She will be deeply missed and always remembered. Florence is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gregory Wingerter, three sons, Gregory, Jr., Jeffrey and wife Sunny, Raymond and wife Gina, grandchildren, Anna, Jacob and Zachary, her siblings, Chester and wife Doris, Richard and wife Janet, Anthony and wife Kim and Terri, brothers-in-law, Royce and wife June, and Richard and wife Judith, friend, Keith Anderson, several cousins, nieces, nephews and other dear friends. A private cremation was entrusted to Kurzawa Funeral Home 388 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ. A celebration of Florence’s life will be held by her immediate family.
