David R. Acosta

David Raymond Acosta, 48, born in Newark, NJ, to Raymond and Nancy (Gast) Acosta, passed away of natural causes Tuesday early afternoon, August 17, 2021, at Hunterdon Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his loving grandparents Seymour and Lillian (Shaffer) Gast and Jose and Angelina (Ferrara) Acosta. He is survived by his parents Raymond and Nancy Acosta, sister Elizabeth Acosta, sister Michelle Acosta-Chomko (husband Harry), two nephews Tylor Acosta and Harry Chomko and niece Selena Chomko. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and his long-time companion and fiancé Bernadette McIntyre. He was raised in Edison, NJ having graduated Edison High School class of 1991 and living in Washington Township most recently. From the time he received his first Telescope, his love of astrology was apparent. He could point out all the constellations and planets while taking pictures through the telescope lens. One of his favorite places to visit was Kennedy Space Center. During his senior year of Edison High School he won an award from an IBM contest which he used towards advancing his love & knowledge of computers. David was happiest when he could talk about astrology and play chess. He enjoyed a good chess game with anyone who would sit down and play and was teaching his nephews how to become chess champions. David was an avid stock trader and worked with his brother-law Harry up until this past week. He once had the opportunity to ring the opening bell for the New York Stock Exchange. He was a computer salesman for many years with several different companies winning monthly awards and was promoted for his tenacity. He will be greatly missed and his love will live with us forever. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate David’s life on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ for a 10 am service in the chapel. Please arrive by 9:45 am.
