Daniel Colfer
November 3, 1946 - May 8, 2020
Daniel Colfer, of North Carolina, passed away on May 8, 2020 at the age of 73. Dan was born in E. Orange, NJ the son of Roy and Kathleen Colfer. He grew up in Sayreville NJ and graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1964. Dan served his country proudly during the Vietnam War in the United States Airforce. He later earned a Bachelor’s degree and MBA from Seton Hall University. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Carol Colfer (Skarzynski), his brother Robert Colfer and sister-in-law Janice Colfer. Dan is survived by his loving children Tara Amann and her husband Greg, Daniel M. Colfer and his wife Krissi, and Lauren DeVries and her husband Michael. Dan is also survived by his former wife, Christine Herber. Dan will be lovingly missed by his 6 grandchildren. He was the dear brother to Lloyd Colfer, Gary Colfer and his wife Carmela, and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dan worked for Merck & Co., Inc., for over 35 years in both Rahway and Whitehouse Station, NJ. Dan enjoyed playing sports, particularly basketball, softball and golf. After retiring, he moved to Ocean Isle Beach, NC where he spent time perfecting his golf game. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. Due to current conditions, services and burial will be held for immediate family only. Memorial donations can be made to the National Alzheimer's Association or the National Aphasia Association.
