Charles Kampo

July 1, 1930 - October 25, 2019

Charles Kampo, 89 of South Amboy entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center. Charles was born and raised in Perth Amboy the son of John and Martha. He worked for Amboy Terminal Co. for 25 years and then for the Sayreville Water Department for ten years until he retired in 2000. Charles was a volunteer fireman for 25 years for Melrose Hose Co. #1 and an honorary member with the President Park Fire Co. Charles is survived by his loving children Diane Kampo and Brian Kampo, and his fiance Tamra Durrett. Predeceased his parents John and Martha, his wife Rose Marie, his siblings John Kampo, his wife Sally, George Kampo, his wife Ethel, Anne Brown, her husband Harold, Helen Hornyak, her husband Joseph and Margaret Kampo. Friends are invited to the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm, followed by an 11am prayer service at the funeral home the following morning Tuesday with Fr. Stanley Gromadzki officiating, He will be laid to rest beside his wife Rose Marie at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Melrose Fire Co. 253 Oak Street South Amboy, NJ 08879 in memory of Charles Kampo.
