Biagio Moriello
March 28, 1936 - June 9, 2020
Biagio Moriello passed away peacefully on June 9, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway, NJ at the age of 84. He was born Egidio Biagio Moriello in the town of Vallata, Italy. He later moved to Bisaccia, Italy at a young age. As a young man, Biagio served in the Italian military and later fell in love with and married his adoring wife, Maria Pali, in 1967. Later that year, they emigrated to the United States, and they started a family and new life in Elizabeth, NJ. In 1976, Biagio and Maria decided to move one last time, to a lovely home that Biagio constructed himself in Linden, NJ. There, they continued to raise their family and make lifelong memories. For the majority of his life, Biagio worked as a skilled carpenter, building, creating, and fixing many homes and businesses, including his own. He was a landlord to many and was always present with a helpful hand for his family, friends, and neighbors, even after he retired. Biagio spent his golden years enjoying his family and his love of gardening. He used every corner and available container to plant anything he could, not only at his own home, but even at the homes of his children and tenants. He took pride in his vegetable gardens most of all, even until the end. His yard was truly known as “Nonno’s Garden.” Biagio is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Maria Teresa (Pali), his four loving children, Carmine Moriello, and his wife, Rosemarie, Nicola Moriello, and his wife, Danielle, Grace Rivera, and her husband, Jeorge, and Anna Murphy. He was a treasured grandfather to his eleven grandchildren: Holly Murphy, Dominic Moriello, Tommy Murphy, Brian Murphy Jr., Tara Moriello, Nicolas Moriello, Kelly Murphy, Justin Rivera, Cristian Moriello, Nina Rivera, and Jenna Moriello. He was the dear brother to Mario Moriello, and his wife, Emma, and sister, Marisa Moriello.
